As a VM employee, our Hook office won't quite be the same without Dale. His knowledge, experience and all-round amazing personality was coupled with a really genuine optimism that can often be lacking at management level. I would also add that in the few years I worked with him, despite us not being in the same team, I noticed he knew exactly how and when to give motivational feedback. On two particular occasions I recall (and I distinctly even remember the exact words said on both occasions) he gave direct positive praise to major presentations that I had just given, giving me a confidence boost exactly when I needed it.
